The site is called 'The Art of Alan Reed' and it is well worth a look.
Not only is there a vast archive of Alan Reed's work over the years, but many new works under the headings of 'landscape' and 'surreal'.
These are quite a contrast showing how versatile this artist is. The landscapes are amazingly detailed, and much in the same vain as some of the Dutch masters Ruisdael, Hobbema and Cuyp. The subject matter is gleaned from the pastoral countryside and coasts of S.W. Scotland and Northumberland.
The surreal works, again, are very detailed, and take much from nature. They contain beautiful bejewelled female forms with flowing dresses. The combination of beauty in nature and in woman works well. You will be entranced by these paintings. They are so exquisite!
There is also funny side to some of his works. Look for the cheerful 'trolls' . This group of four studies is convincingly real seen in woodland and sea-shore settings.
Enjoy!
