Nature, in all its forms, has always facinated me. Whilst growing up I was always one for collecting shiny stones and shells, and looking in awe at 'little beasties' under a microscope. And to some degree, I've not changed at all.
Surreal and fantasy art has always fascinated me, and over the years been an inspiration. The idea of incredible creatures existing around us, in common places, yet hidden, is magical. I hope by my depictions I make a contribution to keeping alive this sense of wonder, not only in the eyes of children but in adults too.
I do hope you enjoy my work. Escape and lose yourself, just for a while.

I think living in S.W. Scotland influenced me to paint this work. Around where I live, in a coastal village in the Machars region, there is much evidence of neolithic habitation, with fortified villages, stone circles, burial mounds and standing stones. This is a very spiritual land. Indeed, the whole area is steeped in ancient history from the Romans through to the Vikings and the early Christians.
